Fence extensions

Category Rant
Well, we left the reno today to add 30cm's of fence extension to the backyard fence. For those of you who know us and have come around you will know we have a permanent member of the neighbours family who has attached herself to the fence. Gets kinda frustrating frankly and last weekend was the final straw... came out to discover Will throwing rocks over the back fence into our neighbours yard being encouraged by the fence leech.

Needless to say Kris and I flipped our lids... its taken a week but i think that Will and Alex finally understand that its not cool do naughty things even when your being encouraged to do it.

Normally if you had reasonable neighbours you could go and have a chat, however we have serious cultural and language barriers with ours, not to mention he tends to go physco.. seriously i'm talking postal here.. ahhh the joys of housing commission. (yeah i know that’s a generalisation and in this day and age of political correctness its not acceptable... )

Well, apparently this just went from discussion to a rant

Anyway, what really gives me the 'crankies' with political correctness is that’s its just not reality.. Seriously, go find someone who frowns on generalisations (and there is plenty of them) and offer them a walk through Redfern late at night... They wouldn't and its a good thing, keeps em alive.

So why can't we generalise..? Why can't we say that men are generally stronger than women... or that women generally communicate better than men...! What’s wrong with saying that huge guys on motor bikes with tattoos and ripped clothing with 'Hells Angles' on the back are likely to kick your ass senseless if you so much as look at em sideways (actually I’ve heard some of the guys are really nice..)

In my opinion the key to generalisation is to ensure even though you generalise on the 'group' you evaluate everyone individually.

Personally I’m going to keep my racist, sexist and politically incorrect views....

Looking forward to an absolute beating in the comments.

Matt

I grew up in wetherill park, but lived on Elizabeth street Redfern, straight across from bunnies oval for bout 2 yrs in 98/99 - the old bretty ford clinic - and had my skull split open and a dangerous haemhrage(phhh whateva) behind my eye causing an inability to contract one pupil for a few weeks. 12 16yo aboriginal "bruthers" surrounded me as I wait at the bus stop outside my front door. One of them said i had a problem, i said i didn't, he didn't believe me, swinging his fold up skoota ova my head. I cannot help but speak of a similar story here in collingwood, with coping mechanisms I have been getting used to much similar to the gist of your ramble. On ya!! link me, as I was surfing round for similar blogs 2 mine to add to my bloggroll. Keep up the powa bro, and say what ya like - the worlds fucked.
